Indibloggies 2005

India Uncut has been announced as Indiblog of the Year in the Indibloggies 2005. Amit Varma is a Desicritic and his writing style and perspectives are truly original. He is currently in Pakistan, reporting on the India-Pakistan cricket series, and the scrumptious food there.

• Shivam Vij's Mall Road gets the Indiblog with the best tagline - a fine blogger and Desicritic - his tagline is "Bus Addey, Maal Rode, Kaimp, Madal Toune, Ajaadpur, Shalimaar"
• Megha's "A walk in the clouds" won the controversial Best Designed Indiblog - the controversy arose out of a nominee that apparently used an off-the-shelf or otherwise unoriginal design
• Best New Indiblog went to a food blog Hooked On Heat
• The Best Photo Blog award was snapped up by Shutterbug
• Sight Screen was awarded the Best Sports Indiblog
  
• The Indibloggies 2005 lifetime achiever was Guru Subramaniam or Lazy Geek
• And finally, the Best Group Blog in 2005 was Desipundit
• Many fine Indic blogs too won awards for blogs in various Indian languages - Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu
