The Amazon Hall of Fame Films

The list of films in the Amazon Hall of Fame, while impressive, and representative of popular culture, is disappointing in one sense. The absolute lack of true classics, great directors, and non-mainstream films makes this a shallow commentary on consumer tastes for films in the DVD age.

The list is built from the top-selling DVDs on Amazon since their Video & DVD store opened seven years ago. Please excuse my lack of editorial comment.

1.The Fellowship Of The Ring:

2.The Two Towers:

3.The Return Of The King:

4. The Star Wars Trilogy: The remastered, remixed version.

5.The Matrix

6.Finding Nemo:

7.Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone:

8.Pirates Of The Carribean:

9.Gladiator:

10.Shrek:

The rest of the list of Amazon Hall of Fame DVDs is as stereotypical as the top ten.

11. Star Wars, Ep. I
12. The Adventures OF Indiana Jones
13. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
14. Saving Private Ryan
